The King of the Gibson ES-295 also played guitar for the King – Elvis Presley – and, on tracks like “Hound Dog,” “Heartbreak Hotel” and scores of other early Presley hits cut at Memphis’ Sun Studio and Nashville’s various RCA recording spots including Music Row’s famed Studio B, Moore laid the groundwork for the vocabulary of early rock and rockabilly.
