Thirteen young ladies hope to be crowned Sandhills Sweetheart
Here is a look at the contestants vying for the crown.
Jordan Carson
Jordan Carson is the 15-year-old daughter of Robyn and Wayne Carson. She is a sophomore and received the Most Improved Freshman in Art award this past year. She is active in Olton High School Band and was a Solo and Ensemble finalist. She placed first in a 3-D archery shoot. Her activities include being in 4-H archery for four years, listening to and making music, drawing, spending time with friends and family, and swimming. Jordan would like to travel to Germany to find out her ancestors and experience a new culture and environment. After her trip, she would like to attend South Plains College to study art and music. She is sponsored by Valley Ag Electric Inc.
Jenna Leigh Diaz
Jenna Leigh Diaz is the 16-year-old daughter of Lee and JoAnn Diaz.
She is a sophomore and is active in cheerleading, athletics and band. She went to state in band for Solo and Ensemble, and went to regionals in powerlifting. Jenna Leigh plans to attend Texas Tech University and receive a master's degree in business and a minor in Chinese to be able to have a career in world banking between the United States and China. She is sponsored by The Olton Diner.
