Less than a thousand people filled the Paramount on the rainy Sunday night, but for a show that was announced just weeks before with no major media promotion, it was a pretty good turn out, especially given the venue’s location. The Paramount Theater is Long Island’s newest concert space, located in the picturesque Huntington along the North Shore, but a significant haul from Manhattan or the boroughs.
That said, it’s a trip well worth making because the Paramount may just be the nicest, cleanest, and most modern indoor venue east of the Hudson. Flat screen TVs cover every angle, from the 6 bars to the comfortable balconies all the way to the back mezzanine, all of which have flawless sight lines and waitress service. Tasteful lighting and pleasant security and staff impressed this frequent concert-goer for my first time at the theater, and it instantly ranked among the top venues I’ve ever visited.
