Bun B, Big K.R.I.T & Friends at Backstage Live. The “4Eva Trill” show features Texas and Deep South rap and hip-hop, Bun B, out of Port Arthur, and, from Meridian, Miss., Big K.R.I.T. Bun B hit in the late ’80s with Pimp C in the duo UGK. Bun B honed solo chops when Pimp C went to prison in ’03. Though Pimp C got early release in ’05, he died in ’08, and Bun B again pressed on solo. His latest CD, “Trill O.G.,” was released in 2010. The multifaceted Bun B also is an actor, a guest lecturer at Rice University and the stepfather of rapper Young B of Youngest N Charge. Big K.R.I.T. mixes lessons he learned from his grandmother with knowledge and appreciation of Southern music traditions. He’s working with a new mixtape, “4evaNaDay.” His debut studio CD, “Live From the Underground,” is set for release this summer.
